Good news! The music program at SVHS grew this year! The band has doubled in size and is rockin’ as a Jazz Ensemble with alto sax, tenor sax, trumpet, guitar, percussion, piano and bass players. Band is offered 7th period and Choir is offered 6th period.
Looking forward to another year of music with these talented students. Last year was incredible with the Grammy Foundation recognizing our music program as one of the most innovative in the country! The new recording studio got acoustic foam put in over the summer and music students will have opportunities throughout the school year to record in their own professional studio, thanks to Universal Audio, Antares and Scotts Valley Rotary. We are indeed one lucky school.
Thank you also to Kiwanis for their grant that will provide clinics and much needed music materials. We have an incredibly supportive community for our music program and we are ready to give back with music from our music students!
